Fossil Bluff’s Secrets

There are some fascinating geological features at Fossil Bluff that are unknown to many and remain a puzzle for geologists. We’ll make our own observations of these features, review the remarks of the early geologist who surveyed the area and perhaps draw our own conclusions.. The excursion is suitable for the moderately fit and mobile. There is a steep 200m climb and a 2km walk. (Repeat from 2018) Possible hazards: a) Fossil Bluff – potentially dangerous unprotected cliff edges, unstable soil/vegetation b) Shoreline – wet, slippery rocks, uneven surfaces. Venue: Fossil Bluff carpark
