Some of us, and those we care about, will need extra support to maintain wellness, independence, remain active in the community and retain social contacts. Our three speakers will give details of Home Care Packages, the Community Visitor Scheme and opportunities for older single retirees to live in a safe and secure environment and enjoy the company of others.
Details of the Red Cross Community Visitors Scheme
Community Visitors Scheme HCP – Volunteers are matched with a participant who visits them in their home, who receives a Home Care Package who may feel socially isolated and/or whose quality of life would be improved by friendship and companionship.
Community Visitors Scheme ACF – Volunteers are matched with a participant who visits them in an aged care facility, who may feel socially isolated and/or whose quality of life would be improved by friendship and companionship
Social Circles – Volunteers visit participants over 65 in their home, who feel socially isolated or at risk of being isolated, to provide companionship and a listening ear. Outings are a great option for these matches (if approved)
